Grazing Goat: Charming Gastro Pub close to Marble Arch
I can’t believe I haven’t gotten around to writing about my favourite
gastro-pub in London : The Grazing Goat on New Quebec Street . Close to Marble
Arch, this charming restaurant serves faultless food every time.
Let me elaborate on why I love it so…
1) They have all the classics and they do them well – like beer-battered
fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce, Sunday Roasts with delicious stuffing, Yorkshire puddings and all the
trimmings. So it’s perfect when you get out-of town visitors who want a taste
of traditional British food.

2) They also do some lovely modern British dishes that showcase the
creativity of their chefs. Case in point – the Globe Artichoke tarte tatin with
a tomato, pea and samphire salad that sounded a bit odd to me but was
fabulous. They do some lovely fish dishes – I’m always interested in seeing
what the special market fish of the day is and how they pair the flavours
together. Like the pan-fried hake with roasted beetroot, green beans and a
hazelnut and rosemary dressing.
4) Upstairs has cosy rustic vibe and good news is, where you can reserve
a table if you don’t feel like waiting around for one.

And that is why I love Grazing Goat - a welcoming casual gastro-pub with
friendly staff and a creative seasonal menu that also showcases classic British
fare. London at its best!
